Un Requited

From across the yard she spies him

His heart leaps! ...  and yet he remains cautious

He comes down off his wall and looks the dashing rouge

she remains coy

 and cruel

she informs him in no uncertain terms; her heart belongs to another and she spurns him,  again.

she takes respite on her bench with the favored stinky sisal rug

 he remains longing ...

but at a distance

A Note From The President

Yes of course I know it's a Holiday (for some)
That Woman had to work
I'm happy, that leaves me time to hang out in the sun uninterrupted.

You know; that would be a cool name for a new blog
'Cat. Interrupted.'
given that the slaves are always finding new ways to interrupt what could be the perfectly tranquil existence of Us.

 They use flashy things
Noisy, giant sucky things
Wrinkly treat bag sounding things
They have the nerve to open cans with a can opener
when the can is not even tuna!
They repeatedly need to touch our furrs just when we've had them cleaned!
They make irritating smackie noises with their mouths on our heads
I mean seriously; do they think we enjoy that?

Think about this humans;
You EAT with that thing, you put food in and masticate it till you swallow;
then you come at us when we are sleeping and drowsy (predators we are) with that giant PIEHOLE and start making EATING noises on our heads!  Then you have the nerve to sit mystified and hurt then when we get up and move.
Why do we move?
Because we are happy to escape with our lives from you Zombies trying to suck out our brains that's why!

Honestly, it's not too hard to figure this out!
So ya; I'm glad She's gone for the day
She is a slave & shouldn't be having all these day's off anyhow.

Ahhhhhh... sun on the underparts...

Miss Jenga Update

Good MORNING Kittehs!

Ms. Stella is really torked.  She's mad because That Woman cut her computer privilidges off yesterday after She came home and found Ms. Stella had been hogging sitting at the computer all day staring at her Mancat Boi Toy Mr. Disco.  Honestly, it was like none of US even existed!  Miss Jack was yellin' cos she wanted to visit some of her Tuxie buddies:  Mr. Puddy! who has returned after long last!! and Ms. Abby and of course the Lucious Lucy!  And we mustn't forget visting our beloved Ms. Admiral daily to see how she's feelin!

BUT NO!

Ms. HottiePants had other ideas.  I must whisper into That Woman's ear that she really should turn the blasted thing off when she leaves for the day.  The que in the googlie reader is a bit much; with over 200 sites and they are not in alphabetical order; but grouped by interest and trust me; the CatBlogs take up more than half!  Given that the Furrydance site was one of the first sites we started following they are on top and since that is where Mr. D lives you can guess how far down we get if there's photos of him doing anything!  It's really quite intolerable.

SEE;
as most of us have no thumbs; we can't clack the keys properly. ( Which as all the CB'ers out ther know is why there humans come in so handy!) Ms. Stella was in a stupor and drooling all over the damn things with the symbols I : L : U : V : & D especially soaked. It was really quite unrefined for a Ladycat of a certain age to be acting that way.  When That Woman  left this morning she said I could give Her an update to post if I liked.  I told her I was a bit indisposed at that moment...

After I finished I handed her my update.

I wanted to thank ALL of you who sent loving purrrs my way when I was having difficulty with my poor tail.  It apears that I have been attacked by a vampire but I can assure you that is not the case!  The tie thing has been removed & I haven't had to wear that ridiculous cone for quite sometime owing to the fact that I am a Lady.

My tail furs are growing back but it is itchy.  She is very good about coming in and taking her claws (that aren't nearly as sharp as mine) and gently scratching around my owie.  It makes me purrrrr really loud and I sit there quite still and fall asleep.  Over all; she's not a bad servant.  I would never tell Her so of course, We mustn't those comments slip or they might get ideas above their station.  We all know how very difficult it is to rule with love when you must always show the other side of the paddle!

I'm back to finding some sun puddles given our rain has stopped for the day.

Hope all the kitteh's are taking care of each other and we too send out extra love for Ms. Annie's loved ones who are going through that heartbreaking transition of facing each day without her.

xoxo

Time?

Oh Kitteh furriends we iz so sorry we hazen't been visitin!  That Woman claims to be has been bery bery busy and is completely neglecting us AND our myriad needs claiming she is too tired *exaggerated rolling of eyes* and too frazzeled  (is that like getting all pooofed?) from working and taking care of everything else.  Well I say pphhhhbbbtt to THAT!  The ONLY thing she needs to take care of is ME US.  We hasn't been visiting blog friends & our googlie reader thing says 240 unread VERY IMPORTANT messages!

We iz missing out.  Maybe we needs to complete that assistant rating thing everykittie is talkin' about.    She promises (oh ya, like we can trust the promises of a bi-ped) to get untangled soon & will catch everykitty up.  We haz hope.  Meantime; we iz nappin on some CatNip Quilts.

Peace out!

Puuuurrrrrrrrr SUNday

Sun
tingles my skin
thru my slick coat
it warms
all the way
inside the cinnamon layer
to the heart
of
me

Ahhhhhh kittehs.  It's a good Sunday indeed to have that dreaded cone off. We were kept awake all thru the night with my twichie tail and me trying to sooothe it with my own grooming which I couldn't do with that blasted thing on!  I would yowl; then walk all over the bed; then I would take the infernal thing and scrape it on the bedrails; in the bathroom on the walls; and finally on the side of her face!

She got a cloth and put hots water on it. Then she gently placed it carefully on one side of my owie and held it there.  Oohhhh BIG puurrrrrrsssss then.  Closed eyes; calm tail; head nodding off.  We both fell asleep then around 2am.  Me cradled between her legs; Her, sitting up with pillows; arms wrapped around me one hand under my paws & head; the other hand gently holding the compress in place.

I convinced her this morning that I wouldn't attack my owie if she would leave off the cone for a bit.  So here I am; dozing in the blessed sun.  Happy SUNday indeed.

Jenga Update

Last update for the eve:  it's 10:27pm.  I had taken her collar off earlier so she could drink & eat; she did neither and after I gave her the pain meds she immedately went under my bed. She's just come out for quick box trip; ate a morsel or two and went back under the bed.  Sans collar again.  But since she's not bothering her 'bow' I'm not going to worry.  I hope she stays a good girl & leaves her bandage alone.  I know she hates the cone!
Thank you to everyone who's posted & sent their purrs & hugs.
I worry over her so!

pain meds are a good thing - no appetite but it doesn't matter cos I can't reach the foodz anyhow!

Kitties,  I'll tell you my story:

Last night it wasn't dark or stormy but it was windy with the 'Devil Winds' blowin like crazy.  After the  other kitties was a alseep; That Woman let me out so I could go in the garage.  I like the garage; it has carpet and lots of places to sleep with blankets all over the place and one GIANT heater.  I like to sleep on the hood sometimes.

BUT I tell you, I KNEW something was wrong.  It didn't smell right out there so I went out rrreeeeeallllllly slowly to investigate.

What did I find?  An INTERLOPER!  There's been this all black fat girl kitty hanging around the backyard.  I know cos my window overlooks the walkway to the backyard & I sees her going under the gate (there's a whole in the bottom and she squeezed herself in there)  *probably cos she's too fat to leap up the fence!*
Anyhow; she got in MY garage & was hanging out in there!  She had been hiding in there and the other cats didn't know but when I went out there I saw her right off and RAN RIGHT UP TO HER in my Bengal self & said 'HEY! You gitz outta my area!' to which she had the affrontery to reply 'Oh HELL noes, you guyz gotz the life of Riley (no relation to goggie) and I aint'a be gettin' outta here!"  To which I YOWLED just like Miss Trish at Katnip Lounge thought... 'OH YA?? WELL BITE ME blackie straycat!  This here is MY OUR digs &you best be off back to whatever food trough you rolled out of porkie!'

My guess is she didn't appreciate me calling her 'straycat' cos when I turned to come in she attacked me for NO GOOD REASON!!! (just all the bad ones)   How did I know that little hussy would take me up on it!  I mean who does that???  I heard That Woman comin' up fast (LOL; she nearly fell over running thru the kitchen) and I knew I woudln't get anothter chance to show straycat how aggresive I really was but when I saw the look on That Womans face I stood and held my ground.

There was a hole in some vent thing and that blackie cat flew outta there.  That Woman picked me up right off (after the stray left so I wouldn't lose face) and she tried to look me over but I was soo mad still I was yowling at everyone so she put me back in my Bengal cave and let me be to calm down.

When She came in later that night to our cave to sleeps; I curled up right next to Her and purrrred.  Though everytime she would pet me and get near my tail I would make a soft, gravelly 'ruuhhhh' noise.  She couldn't see anything at the time.  Next morning I didn't get up for breakfast when The Gurl came in with it.  I let her pet me but kept my tail flat down.  Then The Woman just put her hand on the area & could feel it all warm.  Next think I know, I'm in the solitary box kennel carrier and on my way to the vet.

Here is the result of that harrowing endeavor.
oooowwiiiEEEEEEEE! this is NOT the kind of bow that makes you prettyful.
Look at my beatiful tail!  It's ruined!  *sniff*

uhhh; Houston?  We haz a problem!

And can you believe She has the nerve to wonder if that straycat is all right?  sshheees!
I think I'll just lie back in the suns & dream of more sun.

Well This Can't Be Good!

Ohhhhhhhh kitties!  Miss Jenga here.  You know your day will go downhill if this is how it starts

And later you find yourself here:

And IT WASN'T MY FAULT!  As She writes this; I am in the back room getting my furrs shaved off my er.. rump;  my owie cleaned and having a tube put in and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS????  THE LAMPSHADE OF SHAME  the cone collar to keep me from my owie.  Phhhhfffttt!   I'll have my secretary fill you in when we get more news from the V.E.T.  I'm very warm and feel icky right now.  Even so; it's unlady like not to purr when you see your human trying so hard to comfort you.  The V.E.T. say's I'm so good he won't sedate me but he will give me a very stingy shot that will make the hurt go away so they can fix it.

Send purrs & good fishes
love
Miss Jengs

With Love, From Chile

I have a visitor in my office.  He's from Chile.  He's a sexie boy with curly hair & deep brown eyes.  He speaks Spanish.  He came with his Gurl who's on her way to Washington.  She rescued him from the streets where his prior owner lacking vet $ left the broken footed (and then broken hearted) boy to fend for himself.  After his rescue and subsequent vet visits; it was determined that there was nothing to be done about his foot as it had remained injured for too long and the tendons and nerves were permanently damaged.

Y'all know I'm not a dog person; I know it and they know it.  But this wee boy, gimping along on three legs is certainly full of the spirit of life!  If she leaves the office for a trip down the hall; he stares at the door until her return.  He barks at any man coming in but not the ladies!  (sly dog!)  My favorite part is when She speaks to him.  She speaks in Spanish to him, that he understands.  If you call him in English; he looks at you but has no idea... When you say the word in Spanish; he's off like a shot!

I suppose that makes perfect sense of course, but I'm completely enamored with an animal that is learning English as a Second Language.  Of course it must be added; when I had my ham sandwich the other day, he immediately came to my chair; put both paws in my lap & rested his head on them looking up at me with those eyes!  Apparently 'pork' is a universal language!  Yes he got some ham because he completely enchanted me with goggieeyes!  There may have been more than one bite too.  I don't remember.

Here he is waiting for Her return...

'Thank You' Notes from Mr. Riley

Hi miss Stacy,
It's me again.  Yep, Riley!
My Mom was playing her musics this morning and one of my fav songs comed on.  I just couldn't help myself.  I just had to sing along.
Well, Mom sneaked in and recorded me.  I told her that since she did, she should probably put out on that internet thingy and let The Gurl hear it so she can practice for sometime when we can sing together.  Oh, yeah, and if you would, please, can you share the link with my new kitteh furriends?  My mom made the link so that it's unpublished but not private so anyone who has the link can see it.
XOXOXOXOX
The Riley

@Miss Stacy – Thanks bunches for the cool card. I wish I could fly like the goggie on the front of it. My Mom let me read it 5 times and I sniffed and sniffed and sniffed it too. I think I could smellz Miss Stella and Miss Jack and Miss Scraps too.

7 Things About 'The Riley'

Okay, Okay, so I don't actually live with That Woman and all those kittehs.  BUT I am adopted and am a penpal to Ms. Stella O'Houligan.  Our mom's are penpals to each other... C, it all started when our moms met on the Irish Gaelic Translator website.  Waaaaaay back when That Woman was getting help doing the translation on that big quilt she made (That's now on it's way to the Netherlands at the big International Quilt Competition!)

Now; they didn't like the fact that there was sooo many funny birthday cards out there and that you could only send one at a time and only once a year on  that person's birthday.  So somebody decided that they  could have un-birthdays.  That way they could send funny cards to each other any times they wanted & it would be like a surprise.

Now the daft ol broads  genteel ladies send each other cards all the times!  They are sometimes from me to Ms. Stella & the kittehs or sometimes from My Mom to That Woman.  I know That Woman has kept all hers in a special box.

I wrote a letter to Ms. Stella recently about an adventure I had.  She asked my Mom if it would be all right to share my pictures and my mom said ok.  So here I am...

The Riley sittin pretty in the primrose patch!  *edit from That Woman- awww woook at da widdy puppy; hims sooooo cutez!!*

*woof!* Here I am after my recent reinactment of 'Escape from Alkatraz'.  I won't go into detail given that my mom's still pretty sore about it but you can see my nose got the worst of it

I wrote Ms. Stella a loooong letter that she LOVED reading telling her how sad I was that I made my mom so madl.  And my mom is so heartless she said "I deserved what I got" which I found really kinda mean... I mean look at my eyes!  Couldn't she see how sad I was?  Sheesh mom!  Heart of STEELE that one! Stella found this card and sent it to my mom saying it 'seem appropriate'  whatever that means.

Here's the card:

I know theres other goggies out there readin' who TOTALLY get this!

7 things about me?

1.  I lives on a biiiiig ranch in Texas
2.  My favorite game is tennis ball toss
3. I eat crunchy apples and celery
4. I can spend hours playing tennis ball toss
5. I love to have my bellie rubbed!
6. I sit on my mom's lap
7. I love it best when she tosses the tennis ball!
