Senior Sunday Sarcasm

Oliver:  "Stellie!  Did you see DAT????"
Ms. Stella:  "It weren't nuthin, I seen bigger... "
Oliver: "Wow, I hope I see bigger stuff when I'm old like you."

Ms. Stella:  "Keep talkin like that and you won't!"

Sadieday or... when goggies are our furriends

We don'tz haz many blogging goggie friends but we like to think that Miss Sadie was first and foremost of them.  Her face ALWAYS made That Woman smile and that made her  A-OK in our book.  This particular photo of Miss Sadie & her mum touched us all so very much  we are sharing it first.

*borrowed from Simba's blog* This past week, Sadie was diagnosed with cancer of her liver and spleen, and yesterday she let her dear Mommy and Daddy know it was time for her to run to the Rainbow Bridge.      Saturdays have always been "Sadiedays" when Sadie would take us for a walk near her home in Oregon or for a forest hike, and her human would take pictures and post them.  We always enjoyed our strolls with Sadie, the times she would go "offloading" and the times she would allow her Mommy to go off leash a little.***

But perhaps the photos that made us all MOL and LOL were these:

Miss Sadie will be missed by all who knew her virtual and otherwise.  Here she is enjoying a rain puddle like the puppy in all of us!

So it is with a heavy heart that we say so long, but we look forward to the day we'll meet up with you again.

Award!

Heya!  Ms. Sexie Audrey  nominated me for this award and That Woman was all distracted by her own dumb dirt-day & forgots to put it up!!!  And she calls ME a goon?

Now I'm supposed to nominate five other bloggers but since I seen this one go round quite a bit I say you get to nominate yourself.  Feel free to copy the photo and illuminate your readers!  MOL!

I'm supposed to tell you one illuminating thing about myself.  So, here goes.

I love my 'DaBird' toy and That Woman.  I especially love when they are together so whenever That Woman is home, I find my DaBird and drag it to her where ever she is.

I figured out that the toy really loves her too cos it will start flying all around the place!
I chase and E A Pand  then it go flying off across the room!  I chase it down & drag it back to whereever she went!  Sometimes I haz to go findez her cos she leaves muttering stuffs about being 'driven crazy'.  *shoulder shrug*  Ususally by then I'm kinda pooped so I assume the loaf position on her feets and just look at my toy.  I just know that at any moment it could fling off into some direction & I gotta be prepared!
I will tell you sometimes it's ebil and lands on me and I churriup and flip out a bit!  I get all outta breath & my eyes getz all big and That Woman just makes a giggley noise.  You knowz something guys?  I think she can be ebil too!

Ollie: "Now where is dat bird?"

Toldjaso

heehee!, gotz my doggie back AND a duck & a...well... I'm just not sure what that other ting is but it's minez too.  That Woman has now resorted to a life of crimes too.  Hers goes to petco for stuffs and always takes handfuls of goggie treats now.  Oh Hers says that they leave 'em out for freez, but I think they don'tz mean you could take handfuls! She says when she tosses MY toys back over dat fence she tosses over treats too.  HA!  I do leave the goggies the treats on acounta I don'tz like 'em but I go right back over dere & getz my stuffs back.  (I do have refined tastes, I will only eat everything BUT goggie treats) I Rock!

"OLLIE!?!"

Ollie: "mmppfff, Wha?  OH!"

Ollie: "Yes Missie Stella, I'm here."

Ms. Stella: "Since you're not busy, go in and get my bed ready. It's time for my nap."

Ollie: "OH YES SIR, er.. MA'AM! RIGHT AWAY MA'AM!"

Ollie: "Let me *muffin, muffin, muffin*,  just make it *muffin, muffin, muffin*, all kushie *muffin, muffin, muffin*,  for ya...*muffin, muffin, muffin*, Ok, try it now"

Ms. Stella: "I'll be the judge of that."

Ms. Stella: "Humpf, could be a bit softer... but I guess it'll do."

Ms. Stella: "*sigh* so hard to train them...  ZZZ...zzzzzzzzz"

Ollie: "So exhausting, to wait on Her beck and paw, I falls asleep sitting up!"

HiJacked!

That Woman here, hijacking the blog to share stuff.  This month I be turning 'older than dirt'.  In my art group we all choose 'themes' for our celebrations and I chose 'Cats and or Birds'.  I want to share the gifts I received at our meeting!  (My actual date of dirt isn't till the 13th.)

The card is a riot! The ostrich has a party hat! It says 'Party like a Rock Star'.  The button on the base of the tail is a kimono button.  My riend Cindy Cooksey made this darling kitty for me.  It is a stand alone sculpture.  There's a bag of rice in the bottom to weight it.  I love the fabric used for the face; TOTALLY looks like that cat is smirking! Anything Cindy makes is just the bomb!

 Here's the back.
My friend Peggy does great embroidery.  I love the colors she chose for this darling mini quilt and the white rick rack really sets off the polka dots nicely.

My friend joannell made this journal cover.  She drew the cat/bird and created a silk screen of it.  (you remember seeing the letters on the piece of extra fabric Ms. Stella was perched on)  joannell said she was unsure if I would understand the comedy of the letters and not take it seriously and I just LOL'd and said 'are you kidding me, with 5 cats the phrase has become my motto!'

I love, love, love joannells work. Her aesthetic style speak to me.  I so wish I had her eye.

Lastly but not least, my friend Vicki (who is a vet in her day job) makes wonderful jewelry.  She created this necklace out of a drawer pull.  I draped it over this box to keep it on display for now but I love it so much there I may leave it!  She told me it was Miss Coco.  (we had taken Miss Coco from her after she had rescued the mama cat & litter of kittens at her clinic).

interesting note: the box is pewter over wood and velvet lined.  It is quite heavy.  It sits in the center on my mantle.   The two cats (bookends) were gifted to me by an online friend while we were both learning the Irish language.  They remind me of my  beloved Gin-gin & Taffers (twin ginger sisters I had all their lives)
The figure on top is a poppet.   That is Elliotts collar round the poppet.  In the box we have a couple baggies with fur in them and  some collars with name tags.  All are from past fur family members who have gone on ahead. (The Gurl put Elliotts furrs in there, I am not ready to open it)

This is a mini-poppet;
here we see happy poppet in wonderment of  the engineering of big kitty Sylvester

poppet reminds me we are silly humans and there is always something bigger (and full of wonder) than ourselves no matter what our age.
on that note:
may the poppet be with  you
