Ms. Stella is out of surgery and resting.
Dr. said he had to take more of her toe (removal to the first knuckle, not the second) that he originally thought as there was more damage to the exposed bone but he was able to sew the webbing back together and wrap her foot to prevent any infection.
*Phew!* I am so relieved. He did say her blood sugar was elevated but he didn't feel she is in danger of diabetes owing to her stress level of injury, car ride & treatment so they will run blood work again to make sure tomorrow.
She will be ready to come home Monday morning.
I miss the Old Bat and hope she gets rest and decent grub and some loves while she's away from home.
Thank you to everyone out there for your caring and supportive comments. It has eased my heart.
Meantime, Ollie is keepin me company
Oh thank goodness, I just a minute ago read the first post about sweet Stella. Thanks for the update and the purrs are still flowing her way.
ReplyDeleteWe appreciate the update!
ReplyDeleteNo, don't worry about her sugar levels--the boys' levels are sometimes elevated from stress when they go for blood work.
Continued purrs and purrayers...It'll be a long weekend without her. Most of it will pass in a haze for her, probably--coming out of anesthetic and probably on pain meds.
(((Hugs)))
