shhhhh; here we see the lengths to which the plebians go to make sure The Queen is comfy. She refused to get on the bed or the comfy leather chair owing to the radar dish. She can't get under the bed either (good news for the medication crew) so she was trying to sleep on all the pile of shoes... until we cleared a space for her and took the sheet to shield her from the paparazzi.
er.. sort of.
not spoiled one bit

That Woman
Stellie Surgery Update 4:22pm Sat.
Ms. Stella is out of surgery and resting.
Dr. said he had to take more of her toe (removal to the first knuckle, not the second) that he originally thought as there was more damage to the exposed bone but he was able to sew the webbing back together and wrap her foot to prevent any infection.
*Phew!* I am so relieved. He did say her blood sugar was elevated but he didn't feel she is in danger of diabetes owing to her stress level of injury, car ride & treatment so they will run blood work again to make sure tomorrow.
She will be ready to come home Monday morning.
I miss the Old Bat and hope she gets rest and decent grub and some loves while she's away from home.
Thank you to everyone out there for your caring and supportive comments. It has eased my heart.
Meantime, Ollie is keepin me company
Shout Out for Purrs Please
Our Beloved Ms. Stella was rushed to the vet this morning after she was discovered limping badly. She had been indoors all night and when we got up she was sleeping on the cat tree (lower level). She got down eventually and that is when I noticed she was limping badly and her paw was swollen really big.
The vet examined her first thing this morning and found that her foot bone was protruding through the bottom of her paw!!! Her toe was nearly severed and only hanging on by some skin. I nearly died! The only thing we can figure is she got it caught somewhere. Dr. Horn said he'd never seen anything like it.
She's a tough ol broad and will undergo surgery today to have the toe removed and the skin stitched up. Since it's Saturday they will keep her this weekend and we will pick her up Monday morning.
Naturally I am nervous, due to her age knowing she will be out under anesthesia makes me very uncomfortable but the vet will do a prelim blood panel first to make sure it's safe. She just had a full panel done last November and it was perfect.
I'm the Mom, it's my job to worry.
I will keep you all posted as news comes in. Dr. Horn is excellent about emailing updates and we may even get a pic. maybe.

Last but not least, That Scrappy Cat
Hers has a slower tongue but she prefers the leftover bits of tuna
I hadta resqueeze some juice out for her coz in the two seconds Ollie had the plate the polka-dots were nearly gone and the can was being nosed off the edge of the counter!

Stay-CAT-ion
Good mews my kittee's!
That Woman will be at our beck and paw for six days straight!
SHE thinks she will be getting lots of art things done here's the insider's scoop:
NOT!
We plan on as much leg, lap, foot & body resting on her as possible.
(here's Miss Jack gettin ready)
That Woman really becomes quite beligerent when she has spent too much time at 'the office' place. She says getting away from all the 'hens' is such a relief! and she thinks sometimes that she is really more manlike as all the 'hen party' stuff gets on her nerves. She says it's mostly gossip and stuff about t.v. shows & celebrities. She is not into any of that.
WE of course, ARE into celebs but we don't get much past the glam pets like GLOGIRLY, MISS COCO, SIR SPITTY and last but never least MS. PENELOPE and the Kozman.
MMMMM, my motor is revved up and rarin to go Woman- pucker up!
p.s. Mr. Oliver gotz an award & That Woman will be posting it up this week! wooohoo!

Senior Sunday Sarcasm
Oliver: "Stellie! Did you see DAT????"
Ms. Stella: "It weren't nuthin, I seen bigger... "
Oliver: "Wow, I hope I see bigger stuff when I'm old like you."
Ms. Stella: "Keep talkin like that and you won't!"
Sadieday or... when goggies are our furriends
We don'tz haz many blogging goggie friends but we like to think that Miss Sadie was first and foremost of them. Her face ALWAYS made That Woman smile and that made her A-OK in our book. This particular photo of Miss Sadie & her mum touched us all so very much we are sharing it first.
*borrowed from Simba's blog* This past week, Sadie was diagnosed with cancer of her liver and spleen, and yesterday she let her dear Mommy and Daddy know it was time for her to run to the Rainbow Bridge. Saturdays have always been "Sadiedays" when Sadie would take us for a walk near her home in Oregon or for a forest hike, and her human would take pictures and post them. We always enjoyed our strolls with Sadie, the times she would go "offloading" and the times she would allow her Mommy to go off leash a little.***

But perhaps the photos that made us all MOL and LOL were these:
Miss Sadie will be missed by all who knew her virtual and otherwise. Here she is enjoying a rain puddle like the puppy in all of us!
So it is with a heavy heart that we say so long, but we look forward to the day we'll meet up with you again.
