Blog Paws! Early Arrivals

Finally arrived in Las Vegas and met up with my favorite boy toy!

Our lovely room!

Miss Coco

Miss Coco makes an early plunder in the CatNip Trunk of Deliciousness!

Some silly shots from the Bissell camera booth
With the infamous Meg Hart of Hartstories and her kitties are Greyson & Quill
The Viking Queen is Mom Trish AKA Sheebie of Katnip Lounge

I swear to you this was NOT posed!  I was holding Coco's paw (she had her tiny toes curled around my fingers!  and it looks like one of those awkward family photo shots! LOLOL

I cannot express how how lovely this darling, sweet, extra social kitty is.  I am so honored to get to spend this time with her.  Currently she's curled up in lap, under my quilt, sound asleep.
Chow for now kitties!

Getting ready for Blog Paws

I thought it would be fun to have sort of 'collector CatNip Quilts' at the conference.  NO idea if it's even a good idea but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to share my quilts in person.  I created all these using (sort of) the Blog Paws theme colors of spring green & brown.

This one is extra large; about 24" x 20".  I simply couldn't make them all this way in time.

My favorite thing is the tag labels.

I love the paw print!

There are five normal size ones below:
Here they are wrapped & ready!

This is before quilting and before I wrote Blog Paws 2014 on them in permanent gold marker.
I don't know why this one makes me think of Sparkle's mom.  It's all quilted now with hearts all over.  In the photo of them all wrapped you can see the hearts quilted on this one in the upper left corner of the photo.

I love the pop of the tags

I feel in love with this darling cat fabric!

I still have more of this and the other fabrics so if you want one; let me know.  I'm happy to make them when I get back.

I'm leaving Monday morning to go visit my mom & 97 year old grandmom in Arizona where I will stay until Wednesday morning.  I will drive to LVegas airport to pick up Miss Teri & Miss Coco and we will head back to the hotel from there.

Can't wait to start snappin photos of all our furriends!!!

In Which Ms. Stella laments

"Whaddaya mean I'm not goin' to Blog Paws with you???"

"Now Ms. Stella, you know how you get with just a 3 minute car ride!  *in case you've got amnesia I offer this evidence*  And a FIVE HOUR car ride is not what you would appreciate
~nor how I intend to spend my vacation"

"Ppfffft! Irrelevant!  Your ears (and nose) comfort is beside the point!  I wanna go see Miss Coco the rock star as well as all them other kitties that git to go!  WTP???"

"Stella:  You ARE going... just not the way you intended,
as effigies go; it's not too bad
And look; you have a Pirate Tiara!"

"Well,  there is the Tiara.    HEY! #1) When did I get a Tiara with a skull and crossbones and #2) How come I never saw it before today???  Jeez Woman you are holdin' out on me and I'm really fed up with it! "

"Relax Stellie-cakes... I have purchased several bags of treats that The Gurl will give you to ease your suffering.  Don't forget to check FB for all the silly snaps I will put up for you"

"Well fine!  But I don't want to see any of you in that swimsuit!  ONCE was quite enough thank you!
Can anyone say **Mike Wazowski in a one piece'?
I simply cannot unsee that.
And did you just call me  Stellie-cakes?"

**For my fans; google that name and you'll get the picture... I couldn't get her to post one here; she's quite full of herself today...  stellie-cakes indeed!

Check out this cuteness!

That Woman has been so busy getting ready for Blog Paws!  She's driving us crazy!  Food times are wonky and scritches time is only right before bed (we all fly up on the bed when we see her head in that direction at midnight!) and rarely in the mornings as she's oversleeping due to staying up so late.

I certainly hope that when The Gurl comes to stay here next week that we get EXTRA of everything since we've been so deprived!

To top it all off, Bird TV channels have been pre-empted by the 'Devil Winds' and our backyard looks like it did roll right out of HELL_O_ Kitty!

Anyhow; She was sent this link by a dear friend & fellow cat freak.

All we could think of is where is King Spitty?  He should be over there checkin' this place out and makin sure that bb kitteh's findin' furrever homes in his hood all have his paw of approval.

We sure give her Ours !

They will sell for a bit more but 20% will go directly to Blog Paws for teh rescue they have chosen in Las Vegas to support!

There should have been a sneeky peek shot here but it didn't happen.  Will post one shortly!

Testing...Testing...

she's trying, I can see that.  Maybe just a different lens is needed? Sadly her favorite one is still in the shop; so now she's playing with this other one.
but all this is really tiring me out
really, how long does she expect me to lay here like this?
I don't know how supermodels do it.

We interrupt this broadcast...

Honestly Woman!  if you want to take a photo of the moon; you really, really, really need a tripod
and knowledge of apeture...including how to spell it aperture
(that only took three tries without cheating) FAIL

That Woman was trying to pass this off as intentional; at least until I asked her WTP that red trace light was...(NO that doesn't count as
'artistic license' of interpretation of the 'blood' moon)

You also need to make sure that when your 'good' camera is in the shop being fixed (you know, the camera you paid gillions for when your child took up photography and now she's the only one who knows how to use it but doesn't anymore? ya, that one) weeeeellll,
you don't just grab the crappy 'point and shoot' to capture a rare bird in your backyard that you've been trying to get for months.  Even when the little bugger was perched in the red maple, sun shining off his glorious little body as if he was practically posing for you!  Those screens are so small and when you need glasses to see you think you've nailed every single wonderful shot only to end up with this.
(This is the black headed Grosbeak)
This bird was so striking to see That Woman actually gasped when it landed in the
kitty free yard
she still weeps at these photos

further; when using a crappy point & shoot notice how the dumb ass camera wants to keep focusing on what's right in front of it's face instead of what you are attempting to capture?
reminds you a bit of humans no?

This is what it really looks like

She's taken photos of US with her camera phone which is pretty good considering, however we've been less than helpful lately and she's been rather over worked.

AND kitties; if she's murdalized all those other incredible shots like the blood-moon and the birdie; you can BET we ain't lettin her near us!

She picks up the real camera on Friday and is spending the day off, getting her hairs done and hopefully getting reacquainted with some camera skillz when The Gurl and she go out to lunch.

whataevs...

Here's a shot of yours truly in better (camera) days.
(oh lookie how coy I am!)

Caturday Shenanigans with Ollie

 Somekitty needs his own playroom.
Mom wants her nice, neat living room back.

Ollie says " Dream on sister-if I can't go outside to play then you is stuck with a giant mancat who needs room to run!"

p.s. from That Woman;  Ollie is doing well.  His vision is limited but he's not completely blind.  He enjoys his safe spaces he's made for himself & for the most part; other than a few hisses now and again, the others tend to leave him be.  Except Miss Stella his favorite; and she lets him know when he's 'inside the bubble'.
