Theatrical Thursday

(click to make it bigger)

Pooch Cafe is a comic I get in my inbox daily at work.

This particular one had me snort soda out my nose

It may appear mean spirited but you need to know

in prior episodes this wee dog fought off a pack of his

mates and a 'cat-a-pult' to send what they thought was a kitten

off the planet. Turns out it was just a hairball, BUT...

He did save it because his owners new love adores her cats

and he knew she'd be all sad.

SoCal Snow Storm

We (who the heck is 'we' anyway?) are reporting to you live (as opposed too?) from sunny so-cal which is now being dubbed 'snow-cal' after a fierce localized
snow storm struck this isolated living room.

Reports indicate no one was harmed by the sudden flurry and in fact the only witness appears to be this cat (oh sure, never mind the photographer with frostbite) who is unmoved (trust us, it would take lots more than this to move her!) by the sudden blanket of snow.

We (what, again?) have been assured the feline known as 'Miss Jack' -aged 11-- has resided at this sofa her entire life and has repeatedly been likewise unmoved during past severe weather instances. Miss Jack pawsed to re-assert her innocence regarding the rain of fish incident.

until next time...

Mitten Up!

Sharing the Love

Meezer Loves

In case you haven't met Miss Penelope, she has a blog called
THE CAT FROM HELL

I started following her because well, after a blog title like that how could I not? and after reading some of her posts I knew I had found a true inspiration!

That Woman has a softie spot for Siamese kitties (Meezers) and Miss
Nellie has a level of cattitude that I dream of emulating.

Anyway it was that brat Kozmo's Birthday (The Tuxie that lives with Miss Nellie) so I ordered That Woman to make a CatNip quilt for them both.

Miss Penelope's name is in rose thread and That Brat Kozmo's name is in black and white variegated thread (Miss Jack picked it out owing to her being a fellow tuxie and all)

I am happy to report they both love their quilt and Miss Nellie makes sure she whaps Kozmo when his turn has gone on too long.

Cool!

I sent a CatNip quilt to my friends Carol, Jake, Moshe Moshi & Maus over at Coffee,Cats & Yarn. This is what Carol made! How cool!

If you're not a reader of her blog, Mr. Jake had infected toofs and this last round of dentistry had to have the last of them removed. While the V.E.T. was drilling Jake's mandible cracked too. But true to his wonderful nature he took all this in his stride & slowly has gotten well due to the tender mercies that Carol has bestowed upon her brave charge. In the last post you can see as Mr. Jake suffers the indignity of having to be spoon fed by his mum and if you think he's helpless think again as he would simply roll his tongue out and drop spoonfuls down her shirt! Now of course, she can't get him to stop eating! YAY JAKE!

Now I don't know about you, but the mere thought of the d.e.n.t.i.s.t. sends me into a cold sweat. Add to that the prospect of what that must feel like to have all your teeth extracted. )not at once thank Cod) . What can I say, I just loves me some kitties and those curly ones (and nekkid ones) seem to do me in! (well, and the torbies, torties, tuxies, gingers, OH, and the all white ones and the calico's and the odd eyed and the extra toed ones... errr. you get the idea)

I'm so happy to know Mr. Jake loves his quilt and that in some small way it will make his recovery (and mum's) that much more cozy. Thank you Carol for making the cool slideshow!

Thoughtful Thursday

Just look at this face!

ya'll know that the Houligan is my Queen but she is not real user friendly.

These two cats are as opposite as they can be and still be in the same felidae family.
I adore them both more than I can articulate.

This photo is of Miss Jenga and it is of her I wish to share something with you today.

I sleep in Miss Jenga's room. (well, it's my bedroom but really it's hers) As soon as I get into bed, I swoosh the down comforter off to one side, Miss J comes down off her tower, across the nightstand and onto the bed. She lies right next to me in the space I have just made for her. I am permitted a pet or two but any more and her tail starts showing over stimulation. Even though she's purring to beat the band.

At some point after we sleep a bit, I turn over, and in the dark, with my eyes closed, I can feel her walk across the bed to the other side so she is again in front of me.

Then comes my most cherished part: my arm under the pillow and hand resting out of the covers. She takes her face and puts it right up to my fingers but doesn't make contact, I can only feel her breath. (rarely, whiskers & a nose tap ) Her breath, as she purrs comes in soft bursts on my hand and I am enchanted. The breath of life indeed. It is a moment I linger on.

Oh what mysteries these beings are! They come to inhabit our lives, even as we push them into the corners of our routine. Yet they offer in the tiniest of moments, the largest amounts of affection, solace and seeming understanding. Just because we don't speak their language by no means mean they don't understand ours.

P.S.
I'm on the mend from my cold. Thank you to all who have sent well wishes. It's so lovely to be thought of.

OH!

My favorite show is on!

Note from That Woman:
Thank you all so much for the well wishes. I am still under the weather but as you can see I can pass time in the evenings taking in my favorite show. It must have subliminal messaging, for some strange reason I have this uncontrollable urge to go to the kitchen and open cat food tins. (must be the cold meds.)

That Woman has ingested some bugs from her office mate so she's all hackey and sniffly. I thought I'd lend a paw and remind her what laps are for.

S. O. S.

Heya Kitties-  We is being told by some that comments aren't working.  That Woman herself haz noticed on other's blogs the same thing; she types, hit's submit and it just disappears!  What the PAW is goin' ON????

Now I know what yer thinkin... Yer thinkin, "Stella, how can we help you if we can'tz leave a comment?" So I'll just tellz ya!   For those that can leave comments and have any idea what the paw is goin' on, please leave a comment and tellz us, for those who can'tz leave comments because they vanish in the Tardis, please send an email to That Woman :   stacyhurt at rocketmail dot com  (if you knowz how to fix this problem)

One thing we noticed, for those who have a comment 'pop up' window it doesn't seem to be a problem there.  BUT, That Woman haz looked and looked to figure how to make our comment window do that and she's dumb and can'tz find it so any help would be so great!

K?

K.

Oh, and here's a darling photo we jacked from Cheezburger for your viewing pleasure

OMYCod!  I need ear muffs for when That Woman looks at this photo.

And this is pawsome too!
