Spring Cleaning, sort of

It's a hard thing to do sometimes,
take cleaning windows for example.
See these 'clouds' on the glass? (you may need to embiggen the photo)

And here on the other window

Those are cat nose prints
left by Mr. Larry (awwwww)
He would sit there and yowl at me while I sat
in the swing and ate my lunch.

I'm not sure I'm ready to clean them off just yet

Somewhat of a Springy Sunday

Enjoying my 'One Perfect Moment' roses; the orange geraniums; the last of my clivia and fresh rosemary (from my bush in the backyard that is over 4 ft tall) as well as some asparagus fern.

The stained glass window was made for me by my stepmother, Milli.
It's about 2 1/2 ft wide & 2 1/2 ft tall to give you some perspective.

In her old home she had made 4 panels that were 5 ft long and maybe 24" wide.  In one of them was a unicorn; it must have had over 200 pieces to it and some of the pieces came out from the glass in a three d effect spilling florets from the unicorns feet outward.  She has it stashed somewhere in her garage.  Breaks my heart not to see it as it was meant to be seen; with all the glory of the sun coming in behind it lighting up so beautifully.

Warmin Up

After dinner; Miss Jenga likes no where better upon being let out of her room, than the hood of my still warm car in the garage.  It's apparently an efficient bunn warmer.
Nice perspective on how big this cat is no?

The Bengal Mystique

I encourage you to click this image; and click again to full size.  What strikes me most about Bengals is the bridge of their nose; while most cats' bridges go straight down from the eyes; notice the elegant flare out under the eyes and back in to the nose.  She's so lovely and her fur is softer than silk.

And with a face like that, is it any wonder she gets away with murder?  Case in point... Here's me laying out a commissioned T-Shirt quilt; trying to make a pleasing design given the materials*.And where is the Bengal?

*the shirts alone; the background will most likely be all black.  Since there was catnip all over the danged carpet & the teen was asleep on the couch I didn't have the heart to get out the giant sucky thing so I just laid my duvet cover down and set to work.  The minute she heard the 'whoumpf' of the coverlet being laid out; she was on it like a rocket!   It's hell to make the bed too! But she is so dang cute when she flies up and lays as flat as she can under the fitted sheet~

No idea why someone wouldn't want to adopt her.

Not Wordless Wednesday

That Woman said the first thing that came to her mind when she saw this photo was
"Don't give me any lip"  (get it? the lip of the S all flippy and everything?  Ya; I didn't get it either)

*sigh*

On the other hand, when she saw this photo
She nearly fainted with squee.  Not because they bear an 'un-catty' resemblance to
a famous science fiction character; not because they are so 'ugly' they are cute; and certainly NOT because she could dress them in tiny clothes...

She finds them utterly charming all on their own; with the darling expressions of cattitude in their eyes  and reflecting from every wrinkle of their adorable cat bodies.  And I needed to put a smile on her face; even if it was a little one.

Since she sad  and crabulated these days that the trip they had planned where they were leaving ME to starve for a week  going to the cherry blossom festival in Washington and going to see Miss Teri & the Fabulous Furrydance Cats (INCLUDING THE FAB MR.NOFURNO) and they were going to meet up with Mr. Pierro & Mile's mum as well as Mier Cats had to be cancelled.

Sad slaves are no fun at all.
cheer up mum

'blocking' a quilt in her sewing room Scraps has been temporarily evicted from her chair)

and then there's Me.
artistically draped

(no cats were awakened  in the taking of these photos :)  )

A nice pile of snuggly woobieness
Happy Sunday!

Peee SSSS: Miss Jenga was in her room; under the down comforter and on top of her heated blanket; I couldn't even get a glimpse of a tail.

A Musing

Hi there!  That Woman here.  Something occurred to me today that I'd like to share with you.  Someone recently posted a comment on this blog in relation to the photos I put up in reference the the rescue efforts in Japan.   I had been trying to distance myself visually from the tragedy in Japan as each time I would see any photograph I'd start crying.

When the CB went full tilt into getting the blogger buttons for aid and links I decided to 'paw up' and post up.  I am happy to do so.  Given that I have no funds to send; it's the very least I can do in promoting awareness.  The commenter made a rather pointed statement of asking why I would post such pictures of animals when there was so much human devastation.  Yes...  you read that correctly.  Apparently for some people it's an 'us vs them' issue.  After I gave this some thought; I decided that I would address my perspective, after all it's my blog.

To me, these are beings in distress. Humans and Animals.  I can hold in my heart and mind the idea that just because one might be covered in fur, walk on four legs, and don't speak our languages:  they are no less relevant to this planet that we are. Period.

xoxo

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Celebrate the day doing what you love; with those you love. That's my motto.  So here I am with my woobie and my green fuzzy ball.  Now once That Woman gets outta my face I shall accomplish my motto.

Tuesday Tuxie Toes

My Little Poem

I ain't saying She she's obsessed
or anything as dark as that
but the woman can't keep her lips
of each of my pearly white spats

They are sweet as candy to Her
smooth and tender and pink
She would kiss them endlessly if I let Her
But that would drive me over the brink

BACK! Get BACK Woman,
fiendish wanton you are
stow your horrid  fetish
or you'll find your brains in a jar!

That's what happens you see
it's so sad but no less true
when humans get too much of dem feets
they can wind up all dead
 and black
and blue

SUNday

Hello and Happy Sunday Kittehs!

I've been working my paws to the bone helping That Woman with her quilt deadline.
What sort of treats do I get for my trouble?
A sunny spot to sleep in
And Extra Nip all to myself
Scraps has her lazers on me but to that I say 'pphhhhhbbbbtttttt!  MY S, MY TURN; I like my S right over the 'wrinkle' in the rug.

On Sundays we waits for Her to getz her coffee; then she makes 'the wrinkle' and sprinkles it with Nip.  Then we who have all been waiting in the circle of patience get to claw the bejeezubs outta dat ting!  We love it!  Then we flee outside and play chase across the yard.  We all come flying back in with big tails, whiskers up and that crazeee look in our eyes!

All She has to do then is make a 's' noise and we fling ourselves back outside all excited!

We Love Sundays With Her spending time playing with us; brushing us; giving us treats.  Then we all go off to nap!
Have a lovely Sunday!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Hello Kittehs!
Here I am enjoying the lovely early morning sun!
Oh I love how it heats up my furrs first thing!

She always has to open my curtains right away (even on day's she has a headache) so I'll stop meyowling at the window)

Each day she leaves for work; this is what she turns around for one last looke before heading out the door.
If I squint my eyes and dip my head she will come back & give me head bonks (on this level of my tower I am even with her head) We will spend a moment or two in the sun with our forheads touching.  It's a lovely way to start the day don't you think?

All Kinds of Squee~

Hey'a KitKats!

Wanted to share something way coolio!  Back in November I had an art show (as y'all know from my art blog) While I was there that day we wandered around to some of the other galleries there.  My good friend Vickie Valdez and I found a gallery that was featuring her lovely bottles.  I had purchased one of hers without knowing she was the artist!!!LOL  She makes these cool bottle vases and then makes necklaces and hangs them around the bottle.  I chose this one.  You can see why.

yes; it's a wee purse and it opens!
(I bought it immediately at that)

I've decided
When it's Ms. Stella's time to move on to her next journey;
some of her furs will tuck safely inside here.

While we were at that gallery they were having a silent auction
Vickie bid first on this item; then I bid.  We joked with each other about it but knew since the auction didn't officially close for awhile we were sure we'd be outbid.  And quite honestly, with her being a Vet and all I figured she'd go back discreetly without me & up her bid for it.  She never did.  The auction closed and we heard nothing.

Then last weekend when my week coudln't have gotten any worse; I got a call from the gallery; I had won the item and sadly they had misplaced my information and only found it that day.  Four months later.  They mailed it to me and here it is.

A Steampunk Polymer clay cat pin.  The whiskers are long and soft; not hard wire.  Since I'm a total steampunk chick this makes me squee big time!  Check out the wee flywheel on his nose!!
